I took the Bar exam in February of 2008 and passed it in the first try. I chose Micromash over other bar review courses because I found the computer based interactive tests extremely helpful. They allowed me to spot my weaknesses and focus on them, and get additional practice in my stronger areas. Weekly reviews by my mentor greatly benefited me. I was guided in the right direction. In addition to these, Micromash was much cheaper when compared to other Bar review courses.

I chose Micromash over the more expensive bar review courses, followed the course, did the questions and passed the exam on the first try. I heard about Micromash from fellow students, decided to give it a try and it worked. The feedback on the questions gives you the tools you need to pass the exam.

After hearing positive feedback from law school classmates and a trial run with a few MBE questions, I decided to use the MicroMash system to prepare for the February 2010 New York bar exam. I’m proud to say that I passed with flying colors.
I benefitted greatly from the immediate progress reports I received from the MBE software. I was able to devote more time to my weakest topics while getting additional practice in my strongest areas and get a rough idea of how I would fare on the actual exam – which was fairly accurate as I averaged 93% on the practice questions and my actual scaled MBE score reflected about the same. Weekly communication with my mentor was also a great asset. My mentor provided constructive comments and helped me maintain a high degree of confidence.

I used Micromash to study for the TX Bar July 2009. I chose it because I wanted a study program that guided more because I was used to having a live course to help guide me as to how to organize my studies. I made the wrong choice because I spent just as much time reading through mispellings and mistakes throughout the books than I did actually learning the material. It was as if no one proofread the books before submitting them for purchase. There were incorrect headings for subchapters, constant mispellings throughout. It was utterly frustrating reading and having to stop to figure out what a sentence was supposed to mean. There were even statements of law that were incorrect as well. I literally had to google often to verify what the books were saying at times. Thank goodness I passed the bar but it was more due to my unwillingness to have to take the exam over again than the Micromash being helpful. If you don’t want to spend your time frustrated, confused, annoyed at the basic mistakes, and wondering why you spent over $1,000.00 only to have deal with the headache of studying with a nonedited book, then I would not suggest using Micromash as your study guide.
I believe micro mash is the best! I represented another bar exam course,but they let sombody else use my name. So, the review the attempt was a wash out. I got no where for re-embersment. The micro-mash reps were very helpful and I commend that. The course outline is very helpful and easy to use. The payback was easy and not complicated. I did not pass the MPRE so I have just realized that is it. Thanks for Micro mash! I do apprciate the help.
I am an Australian law graduate who took the NY Bar Exam in July 2007. Prior to that I’d had no experience with US Law. In the lead up to heading to NY I was finishing my admission requirements here in Australia, and didn’t have much time to prepare for the bar exam. All my study and knowledge of US law came from reading the MicroMash textbooks and doing the exercises along the way. The feedback that came back with the written exercises really helped with my approach in the exam. With the limited time to study, the MicroMash method worked great, not overburdening me and teaching me all I needed to know. The important this is I passed.
This is an unequivocal, resounding, overwhelmingly positive recommendation for MicroMash bar review!!! I struggled for years to pass the bar exam. I was stuck in the rut of the traditional bar review programs with the same old questions, the same old study guides, the same old advice. They do not cater to individuals who do not pass the first or second time. In fact, at one live lecture, I even had an instructor tell the audience that the more you fail, the less likely you are to pass. Well, I am truly thankful that a classmate from law school gave me info on MicroMash. From day one, I knew that my studying would be going to new, higher heights; I immediately acquired a better grasp of the subject matter. I found the interactive computer-based learning program to be engaging, exciting and helpful. I became excited about each question that I answered correctly and became motivated to increase the number of questions that I completed daily. I actually looked forward to studying. I used the MicroMash course to study for the July 2007 Tennessee Bar Exam at the suggestion of a friend who had successfully used the course previously. I was looking for a course that would allow for a more flexible study schedule due to the fact that I was employed at the time. The study materials more than prepared me for the exam, and I felt really comfortable by the time I sat for the exam. The mentor who graded my essay responses really provided great insight that I used during the essay portion of the exam. In addition, the volume of questions for the MBE section made me feel as though there was no question for which I would not be prepared. It is an overall great program that I would recommend for anyone who is planning on sitting for a bar exam, no matter your study preferences.
I was very pleased with MicroMash. I was able to work part time until right before the exam & study on my own schedule. While all of my friends were suffering through classes they hated (and figuring when to go to makeup classes for the ones they’d missed), I was laying by the pool or on my couch with my computer. I walked into the exam feeling very comfortable with the MBE, and that took a lot of pressure off of me for the essay portion. I highly recommend this. Especially for people that can’t pay attention to someone lecturing to them for hours at a time. I really need the interaction, flexibility, and instant feedback.
MicroMash is the most awesome review course ever. I first tried a Marino Bar Tutor course/Barbri (people that tutor for Barbri), and was told that not everyone can raise their MBE score or score that well on the MBE.
HOW UNTRUE THAT STATEMENT WAS!
At the end of my review for the Illinois Bar Exam, I was practically destroying the MBE,. On the actual exam, more than half of the questions on the PM Section, I had already done before. Their essay review is also very underrated as well, as there always a few questions at the end of each section which touched on exceptions and fine layers of law that Barbri/Marino did not cover.
As such, I passed the Illinois exam, and am gonna also have a Bar Admission with D.C., which means that I raised my MBE score contrary to what the Marino Bar Tutor predicted.
MicroMash makes a point of touching on the exceptions to the laws and the nuances of the law on the MBE and on the essay portion and is so thorough.
I do not see how anyone who does all of the homework assignments and all of the MBE questions in the software package cannot pass. Plus the pass guarantee cannot be beat!

I thought that the first bar exam I passed 17 years ago would be the last (New York). But there I was facing the bar again in a new state (Florida) so many years after leaving the law school classroom. Unlike my first bar exam experience, I now had a full time law practice, two children aged 3 and 9 to handle, and no time left to study.
MicroMash Bar preparation was perfect for my needs. The price of the course was better than all others I looked at. The software practice sessions were almost exclusively how I prepared for the exam. Not having to attend a class was perfect since I could only study between 2:00 am and 4:00 a.m. I read the printed materials in a few areas where I needed context. The essay feedback was great. I passed the Florida bar and recommend MicroMash to all of my friends who have to take another bar exam.
Micromash was a perfect tool to prepare for the bar exam and pass it on the first try after being out of law school for almost 4 years. The multi-state quizzes prepared me so well for for that part of the exam that the actual mutiple choice seemed easier than the study questions. I would recommend Micromash as your primary study tool to anybody preparing for the bar exam.
I used MicroMash Bar Review for both the state and multistate portions of the Bar exam, and I passed with nearly twenty points to spare on both sections. Overall, I believe that MicroMash offers a quality product at a fraction of the cost of some of the better known programs. I especially recommend following the essay schedule established for state exams if the state has an essay component. With strong essay writing abilities, one can overcome deficiencies on the multiple choice portion.
MicroMash is not for everyone. I believe that someone using MicroMash must be incredibly self-disciplined. Also, MicroMash outlines and questions have some typographical errors that may be overlooked by some, but others, in the heat of studying for the Bar, may find annoying. Finally, MicroMash’s questions are more instructional in nature, so I do not think that they reflect the structure of true Bar exam questions.
I don’t want the t-shirt I just wanted to give my story. I tried passing the NY bar FOUR TIMES using books and lectures from competitors. It works for some people but I don’t have the attention span for it and wasted a lot of time and money. The first time I took the Bar using Mircromash I passed by a good margin. I don’t have great study habits – I would just sit and do as many questions as I could – taking breaks and keeping a running word document of stuff I learned to review that night. By doing the questions over and over I focused on the areas I was weak in and learned the subtleties and distinctions. Anything too difficult or confusing – just moved on and built up my strengths. Highly highly recommended. I used it again a year later to pass the Connecticut bar – no problem.
Besides being motivated to win a t-shirt, I can honestly say that Micromash is up there with sliced bread, memory sticks, and, yes, the electric guitar. It’s a darn good invention.
I passed the California Bar Exam on my first try. Knowing that I personally needed extra time to prepare for the MBE, I used Micromash during the months leading up to formal bar prep. The self-paced program perfectly suited my needs. For me, the power of Micromash lies in its explaining why the wrong answers are wrong, and not only why the right answers are right.
I had a crazy bar exam experience in that my wife was hospitalized on the night before the last day of the exam. Sleep deprived and rattled as a result, I am certain that I missed key issues on the essay portion of the exam. I can only conclude that my MBE score made the difference in my passing.

Micromash was an awesome study aid. I could study my way- on my own time schedule. Being able to review the multi choice questions over and over was a great learning tool for me. The program was very organized and was up to date on new laws and cases. Updates were being mailed to me all of the time. I had a mentor for essay questions and was able to get personal feedback. I would recommend (actually I have) to anyone studying for the bar. You do have to be motivated though. If you don’t study well on your own this may not be the program for you. I didn’t live close to the school so attending a daily class was just not the way to go. Drive time would have taken up valuable study time. I passed the Michigan Bar on the first try and you can too with good study habits and MicroMash!
I cannot thank MicroMash enough. I had studied a law degree in the UK, completed law school in the UK and was in my first year of a training contract with a UK law firm (i.e. I had NO experience in US law). I purchased the MicroMash course on the recommendation of a colleague, studied over a 6-month period while working full-time and passed the New York Bar Exam on the first attempt. I have subsequently passed the MPRE (using the MicroMash materials) and was called as an attorney less than a month ago. The only issue I had was that the materials seemed to have a reasonably high number of typos. There’s obviously a lot of material to check, but given the approach to typos in the legal field, it is a bit disconcerting relying on documents full of them when preparing for an exam. With that said, it clearly didn’t have enough of an impact to make me fail! In general, all the materials you need are supplied and arranged in an easy to follow manner, making it perfect for individual study.
Micromash was great. The feedback from the attorney/mentors was excellent and the outlines were simple and straight-forward. I passed the Alabama bar on the first try, and I’m sure it was due in large part to the Micromash course I took. Thanks!
Out of all of the programs out there, MicroMash best fit my style of studying. I passed two bar exams because of it. In addition to the software program, the study guides were very well written. Moreover, I really appreciated the advice given by the persons reviewing the essay questions. Thanks MicroMash!!
I took Micromash [MM] several years ago after wasting time and money on a competing preparation program. MM was really what I should have taken in the first place. MM quickly showed me my weak areas and made me work on those. The competing program looked like a useless, unfocused drill.
MM was like a video game because I looked forward to my next session of practice with a curiosity about seeing what MM is going throw at me! In the end, I completed the full program and realized that the pass guarantee was so solid that it was very hard to collect!!
Even the essay tutor was very good and highly available.
In summary, new students should definitely consider MM as their first and only choice.

Nevada Bar Exam Results were released on Thursday May 6, 2010 (48% pass rate). I passed. Micromash (MBE) was my only “formal” study program. The MBE was the least difficult part of the exam for me. In fact, I recall thinking that I must have missed something big, because it seemed it should have been much harder.

I graduated from law school in fall 2006 and took the February 2007 Bar exam. I had many friends who purchased the BarBri program and they seemed to spend a lot of time in the classroom listening to lectures and then having to spend their evenings doing practice questions…didn’t sound like what I needed. I did some research on MicroMash and was impressed with the self-study approach. I began practicing for the Florida Bar exam in December of 2006 and worked through all of the MBE questions by about 2 weeks before the exam. The system worked great and I passed the first time out! I really enjoyed the versatility of the MicroMash program and should I ever decide to take another Bar exam I would definitely use it again.
I graduated from law school in 2008. I took approximately two years off to do some soul searching and address some personal issues. In October of 2009, I decided to sit for the MD Bar and yesterday at 4:30 pm the unofficial results (official to be mailed by US Postal Service) informed me that I PASSED the Bar.
MicroMash, or MM as I affectionately refer to it, was essential to my success in passing the Bar Exam, specifically the MBE. The questions were tough and the review answers provided me with clarity in the cloudy domain of “MBE Land.” Moreover the state outlines help build my legal foundation and understanding which assisted a great deal in the crafting of my essays. Finally I will say me mentor was candid, knowledgeable, and accessible.

Micromash’s flexibility was perfect for me. I was able to study on my own time and schedule, rather than sit in a classroom and watch lecture videos. I also liked the MBE review – it was so easy to mix and match questions, whether it be by subject or difficulty. Further, the program calculated and kept track of your progressive, which was very beneficial. I would recommend Micromash to anybody, especially those who need flexibility and do not need to be given a classroom schedule. I passed the NV bar my first time.
I loved the MicroMash Bar Review. I was able to study for the TN Bar exam while living in CA. They provided a guideline that was easy to follow. I was able to study on my own time so I could take breaks as I pleased or move days around when necessary. I actually enjoyed studying for the MBE because it was fun to choose my own mix of questions and try to beat my previous scores. I spent half the money it would have cost to take a BARbri course, and I passed on my first try.
The micromash study program for the multistate bar exam was very effective for me. After three years of law school I was tired of going to classes and the micromash self-study system appealed to me. I was diligent with following the program and by the time I took the bar exam I felt very prepared for the multistate. I scored well and passed comfortably. I would recommend micromash to anyone who is self motivated and feels comfortable studying on his or her own. It is a well designed program for the multistate bar exam.
Micromash was perfect for me. I enjoyed studying on my time, when I wanted, where I wanted, and at my own pace. It was exactly what I was looking for. Lots of great multiple choice questions, plus good study guides to boot. And the hundreds of dollars I saved by not using other companies was just icing on the cake.
I actually got married, took my honeymoon, and moved to a new state in the middle of my bar review summer. I never would have been able to have the time and state-of-mind to enjoy my wedding fully if I were in BarBri or any other rigid class. I got to schedule my own days and weeks and avoid stressed-out colleagues in the library. I found that ny not wasting time commuting and complaining with my friends, I was able to devote a lot less time overall to bar prep (about 2 hours a day for about 2 months). Oh, and the most important part, I felt well-prerared during the bar exam, and I passed (in GA, not the same state where I went to law school).
Second time around, I passed the D.C. bar exam. What did I do different? I supplemented my BarBri course with MicroMash! My MBE scores drastically improved. I would not overlook this course. I also supplemented my Performance Exam materials with The Study Group Performance Review which I strongly recommend. I went into the Performance test ready to attack and extremely confident, because of this course. I scored high and needed all the points I could muster.
To my surprise, I passed the Maryland bar on my first attempt after using Micromash. You have to put your time in but it’s nice not to have to go to classes. Also, Micromash might be the best way to prepare for the MBE.
I chose Micromash because I knew I was going to have to front the entire cost for my bar review and couldn’t stomach taking out more loans for a more expensive alternative. I also decided that I was going to work while I studied, even though everyone told me I would fail and that I was crazy. I studied a little at night and saved up vacation from work. I then took 3 weeks of paid vacation off before the test and studied hard. I passed with flying colors. No other program would have allowed me that flexibility. The MBE program was great, and even though I hated doing so many questions, on the day of the exam I had no trouble. The essay books were pretty good but I had to get creative in how I used them to study, however, the mentor and reviewed practice questions more than made up for the books. I told friends of mine who took other bar review courses how many graded essays I had received and they were jealous (they apparently only received feedback on 1 essay). In the end I was able to work, buy a house, spend time with my newborn son, and prepare for and pass the bar. There is no other program that would have allowed me to do this. Thanks.
I took the state materials. A horrible decision. There was little to no organization, often incomplete or even outdated statements of the law, and very vague instructions for essays that were turned in. The feedback was mediocre. Moreover, it was obvious that the state materials were not at all particularized to each state. Commonly tested but non-MBE subjects such as Civil Procedure and Professional Responsibility were treated like national subjects and the essays may or may not have had any bearing on the time limitations of my state, California. CA-specific areas were completely unorganized with a ton of useless info as if they were pasted directly from statutes.
If you are going to do anything other than BAR-Bri for state subjects and essay writing, I strongly recommend a system that is particular to your state, especially if you are taking the bar for a toughie like CA, NY, or FL. I flunked the state subjects badly the first time I took the bar, under Micromash, even though I did great on the MBE. I took CA-specific P.A.S.S. for the next time and passed with confidence.
MicroMash was for me the best possible tutor for the MBE portion of the NY Bar Exam. I sped through the questions comfortably and received a grade of 146. Not bad for a foreign law student. My advice- practice, practice and practice, you will see the results. Keep up with the MicroMash training program. MicroMash is a great tool. It was recommended to me by an attorney who sat for the NY Bar Exam twice and passed as well. If you are sitting for the Bar for the first time, you will find out that it is a test designed around a unique system that ultimately makes you define your own failure (you fail once you decide to give up). MicroMash will help you pass the MBE if you stick to it.
After failing the TN bar exam three times, I began to think that all the time and money I had put into my legal education was going to be for nothing! I decided to try MicroMash after talking with a friend who had also failed the bar three times in KY but passed it on her fourth try with MicroMash. Well, the results speak for themselves, as I passed the February 2010 and will soon start my new job in private practice! I found the MBE study portion to be excellent in preparing me for the multiple-choice part of the test, and the essay material was so wonderful that I found myself virtually quoting its language on several essay questions. I don’t know what situation I’d be in without MicroMash, and I will recommend it to anyone who asks my opinion (as well as plenty of those who don’t…)!

I took MicroMash in order to get some feedback on how I was doing on the essay portion of the PA bar exam. The customer support was great and the feedback added structure to my answers and helped me maximize my points. Not only did I do well on the essay, I increased my MBE score by eleven points. The customizable MBE questions on MicroMash and plain English answers the program provides definitely contributed to the success. In all, I scored nearly twenty points higher than the first bar attempt; more importantly, I PASSED! Additionally, I recommended MicroMash to a friend who had taken the bar 6 times! I started MicroMash after having had major problems on the MBE. I started MicroMash for the first time just two months before taking the bar exam which I passed. I do not credit MicroMash for pushing me over the edge (the 2 PMBR books did that for me). However, MicroMash did definitely supplement my knowledge. Its flexibility is amazing, especially for students such as me who would study at all odd hours of the day, for varying amounts of time each sitting. One major downside to MicroMash’s computer program is that it just does not do a good job of mimicking test day conditions, when you are frantically writing on hard paper. Oftentimes when I was on MicroMash, I was frustrated by the fact that I could not take notes directly onto the questions. This threw off my routine, to the point that I was very concerned about how I would react on test day when I had hard paper in front of me. Regardless, again, I treated MicroMash as an (excellent) supplement to my learning, and would nevertheless recommend it to only those students who are having major MBE problems. Thank you.
I used the Micromash MBE program to prepare for the California Bar Exam. I found the software to be amazing! I liked that it tracked my progress and would continue asking me the same questions until I got them right. Also, I liked that I could customize my MBE practice exams to include questions from all the MBE subjects or just the ones in which I needed more practice. I found the explanations to the answers to be very thorough. I did not take evidence in law school, and I didn’t have a solid grasp of constitutional law when I graduated. However, by practicing the questions and reviewing the explanations to the answers, over time evidence and constitutional law became some of my best MBE subjects. I was excited to find out I had passed my bar exam. I feel that the Micromash MBE review course played a major part in my success!
I used micromash and customer support was ok. But distressfully, I discovered that Micromashes materials were outdated. Nothing like finding out the night before the Bar that you have been studying law has superceded for half a decade. I passed the exam and saved money, but there was definitely a lot of additional stress and anxiety during the 4 months of waiting for results. I could not in good conscience recommend Micrmash.
I live and work in Nigeria where I had already been admitted before I decided to sit for New York bar exam. I am very a busy person. Therefore, in addition to the challenges of being trained and having practiced in a foreign jurisdiction, I have the following challenges (1) How to create time out of my busy schedule to read, (2) How to obtain the necessary tuition/training necessary while in Nigeria (3) creating time to travel to go and write the exams. I could not travel travel to the USA for any tuition or lecture. I needed a tuition adaptable to my special schedule.
I was introduced to MicroMash by a New York Attorney and it happened to be just what I needed – My Pace and My Space. Using MicroMash, I passed the MPRE on first attempt in 2008 August and using MicroMash again, I passed the New York Exam in July 2009 and got admitted in February this year in New York. True I did not try any other review, but I cannot imaging any busy man like me, trained outside the USA, traveling from Nigeria just for the exam being able to overcome the New York Essays and passing the New York Bar Exams just like that without Micromash approach.
As long as you can have the discipline and take very good note of the tips given by MicroMash authors, you do not need to know any other tuition company. You can PASS without going to any CLASS.
I wholeheartedly recommend Micromash and I really look forward to working with MicroMash and marketing them in Nigeria if possible.

I passed the VA bar using Micromash. I loved the flexibility of the system. I studied for the bar as I traveled across the country and didn’t have to worry about classes, etc.
The multiple choice program was incredible. I cannot praise it enough. I worked on it every day until I answered every question correctly, and the actual bar exam had many questions similar to those I had seen on Micromash. I saved a lot of time taking the bar exam by knowing those answers ahead of time.
The state-specific portion was more challenging, because it required me to learn from the books and write short-answer responses to questions. The mentor they assigned me was helpful.
I walked out of the VA bar exam early every day, and I was a little concerned why everyone was taking so long. But I passed it on the first try.
I highly recommend Micromash to anyone who can trust themselves to work on their own without the push from teachers or structured classes.
I took the PA bar using a different bar review course but was not successful. I retook the PA bar (and for the first time took the NJ Bar at the same time) using MicroMash and was successful! The program was incredible and my mentors went beyond the call of duty in terms of their support and advice. I could not have done it without them! I wish MicroMash would offer itself in all states for both the multistate and state specific material so that others could have the same experience as me!
I was strapped for cash after graduating law school, and took the advice of several other law school graduates who passed the bar exam with the MicroMash course. Realizing the price difference between MicroMash and other bar prep courses, and the fact that I could take the test and pay after passing, I enrolled in the course.
MicroMash gave me all the tools I needed to pass the MBE and MPE, including software comprised of thousands of timed and scored MBE questions that forced me to work on missed questions.
There were several full-length practice exams, and the fact that I had a personal mentor to grade my practice essay exams was tremendously helpful.

I passed the Maryland Bar using only MicroMash. The program — including the software, books, and the personal essay feedback — left me confident that I was completely prepared for the exam. I recommend MicroMash to everyone that is self-motivated enough to get up in the morning and do the program every weekday for about a month or so. If you think having a scheduled class each day will keep you focused on on track, then MicroMash is not a good choice. But if you are someone who can structure your own studies, and learn from reading and taking your own notes, MicroMash is terrific.
I chose MicroMash because I knew I wouldn’t go to bar prep classes. I was also hoping to find something cheaper than the classroom courses, and I suspected that taking a bunch of sample tests would be the most effective way for me to learn. I thought the interactive DVDs were great; I didn’t dread my study time the way I would have had I enrolled in a course. I was working full time when I took the California and Arizona bar exams, used MicroMash for both, and passed both.

I went to law school at UC Davis and then ended up taking the bar in North Carolina. I got through on the first try. The MICROMASH training program was highly effective in focusing on what I needed to know. Years later I had to take the New Jersey bar. I immediately signed up with MICROMASH and I got through on my first try again. It is a very effective program and I actually enjoyed it, which is saying a lot for a test prep system.
MICROMASH is the best way to study for the MBE. IT uses technology which increases your study time, helps you learn faster, check your answers immediately, and saves you the most valuable thing – time. It is exponentially faster than any other study aid available. DO NOT make a mistake studying for the bar by not using MICROMASH.
I chose Micromash to study for the Alabama bar exam in July 2009. At the time, I was licensed in Colorado and Wyoming but had been out of the practice of law for 5 years since moving to Alabama. I decided it was time to become admitted in Alabama so after researching the different bar review courses, it seemed that Micromash would be the best fit for me.
I am a stay at home mom to two small children, plus, we live about an hour away from any place offering instructor-lead bar review classes. So, Micromash offered an ideal home study plan for me. I followed the suggested study plan pretty closely, although I was not able to do the daily amount of multiple choice practice questions as suggested.
In addition, the mentor who reviewed my practice essays gave very helpful feedback and the multiple choice practice questions really helped me improve my score. I was really nervous about taking this exam 9 years after law school, but thanks to the Micromash bar review, I passed with no problem. I would highly recommend Micromash to anyone studying for the bar.
MicroMash is great for those of us who went to class in law school to fall asleep or day dream. I often thought if I could be at home studying my outlines, as opposed to wasting three hours in class, law school would have been a lot less painful. MicoMash allows you to get right into the material and analyze and organize it how you feel comfortable. They offer guidance to help you but come on after finishing law school I’d like to think if there was one thing I know how to do its pass a test. The multiple choice questions are challenging and are not repetitive or in a pattern like other review courses. I have passed two bar exams now using MicroMash and highly recommend it to anyone.
I spent six weeks after graduation preparing for the 2006 Virginia exam with my Micromash study guides. I never got to the practice exams and didn’t take advantage of the mentor feature. I passed the exam on my first attempt with the study guides alone.
Micromash was the prefect program for me. I was working a full-time and raisng my son by myself. The other programs would have required me to drive at least two hours per night to participate in.
The multi-state software program included over 2000 questions. By the time I took the test I was very prepared as far as pacing myself and recognizing the best answer.
The mentoring on the essay questions was very helpful also. They explained to the “CRAC” methiod which worked. With Micromash’s help I was able to pass the Tennessee Bar exam. The quality of my life and my family’s life has improved vastly. Thank you Micromash!
The third time was really the charm for the CA Bar. I am a twenty year practitioner who decided to sit for the CA Bar three years ago. I used a competitor’s materials and was shocked to learn I did not pass. I used the same materials but studied more the second time and came close, but did not pass.
After promising myself that the third attempt would be my last (win, lose or draw), my wife encouraged me to use Micromash. She used it to pass the CPA exam and I took her advice. Took the Virginia bar in the summer of 2009, and had signed up for Micromash because I did not feel I would get a lot out of a course like BarBri, going to lectures, and having the information flow in one ear and the other. Micromash worked because I just hit the books hard from early June on through to the day before the bar exam.
The MBE prep is excellent — did all the questions, and felt well prepared come the MBE portion of the exam — the question types were very similar.
The state prep was ok. Va tests over 20 different subjects, but I wish that there had been a heads up as to what subjects were more likely to be essays versus short answers — Va has both, and apparently certain subjects (taxation, local govt) are apparently destined for the short answer portion and will never make it as a stand alone essay. Thought submitting the essays to the mentor was good, and got good feedback, though would’ve appreciated the mentor taking a more proactive approach — maybe not even on an individual basis, but at least highlighting common issues he/she was seeing in essays. I’d recommend Micromash to persons who do best studying on their own, where maybe they don’t get much out of listening to a lecture.
I passed the MA bar, no problem on the first try using MicroMash. I wanted the flexibility of designing my own study schedule so this was great. The one on one mentoring for essays worked well…and it helped to ease the isolation of studying at home. The mentor was ”there” to provide encouragement and support as needed.
My only complaint is the number of typos and errors, both in the books and in the MBE software. I found it very distracting…it is just a matter of having a proof-reader…or two. I believe it is worth the investment to make MicroMash a really top shelf product.
Summer ‘08 I took the bar in Mass. and AZ over a three day period. I utilized competitors for the Mass. essays and the MBE, but I needed concise and cost-effective study materials for the AZ essays. This was especially important due to some fundamental differences between Mass. and AZ law (AZ has community property and does not recognize common law crimes/defenses). MicroMash provided the appropriate summary and detail of the legal principles I needed to know, at a very favorable price. I am happy to say that I passed both exams on the first try!
I loved Micromash because the MBE portion was the hardest part of the bar and they helped me CONQUER IT! Because I did not want to leave no stone unturned, I also asked for the essay materials, the mentor option and the “pass now, pay later” program. I have never been good at multiple choice questions and that is why I chose the Micro Mash program. The entire last semester of law school I was sick as I thought about the bar exam. A friend told me about MicroMash program, and I figured it couldn’t hurt. Once I recieved the materials I practiced hard, studied hard, and all my feelings of dread, doubt, and angst went away as I became more comfortable with my abilities. I used Micro Mash to study for the Florida bar. It was really helpful and on point for the essay portion. Getting one on one feedback on each essay topic was critical and key in my passing. I was beyond prepared. I was also able to focus on the areas I really needed help on with the multiple choice sections. Micro Mash saves valuable time by grading the multiple choice instantaneously. If I ever move to another State and have to take another bar exam, I’ll definitely use Micro Mash.
A couple of bullet points of note:

Being new to MicroMash, I’ve always known that we had a very strong product and a group of largely satisfied customers, but your reaction to our request for feedback has surpassed our wildest expectations! At this point, I want to interject a few comments:

We prefer to not “compete” for your attention by hiring lots of people or in other ways trying to replicate the traditional bar review sales model. That model works well, but we prefer to focus all our efforts on driving sales through referrals or “word of mouth”! As it turns out, a healthy majority of our surveyed customers first heard about us from another happily satisfied customer. You’ve no doubt seen that happy fact echoed in the comments below.
The problem is that relying on that sales model is a bit of a challenge! By the time you get your bar exam results, you have moved on from the law school environment, and have little contact with remaining students (our target market). As you might imagine, by creating this post and soliciting your feedback we are trying to create a repository of “virtual referrals” for future generations to reflect back on – in an attempt to assist them in making the ultimate decision of selecting a bar review program! You have exceeded all our expectations in creating just such a document….so thank you!
A final note about negative comments and criticisms. Many of you might have expected us to be confrontational with negative feedback in this thread, or to delete unruly comments. Not at all. So long as the feedback comes from an attempt to make our program better, we will absolutely NOT be deleting any comments. Quite the contrary. We know MicroMash is not for everybody. Seeing people that did not appreciate our program (as well as the reasons why they did not) will help our future students make a more informed decision on which company to select as they prepare for their bar exam.

Micromash is the best MBE study program I’ve come across…I wish I had known about it the first time I took the bar exam!
There were two reasons why I chose micromash: 1) the relatively low cost and 2) the freedom and flexibility in planning my own studying strategy. I graduated in 2006 and passed the bar on my first try. I think micromash is perfect for people who have the decipline to plan a strategy and follow through on that strategy. You have the freedom to spend more time on the area(s) of law that you are weakest and spend less time on the area(s) of law that you feel comfortable with. I 100% recommend micromash for those bar takers who believe they have the ability to effectively manage their time and effectively study by concentrating on particular area(s) of law according to their needs.
I used micromash in 2008 for the NY bar exam. I was working full time and the MM system allowed me to study at my own pace. The materials were first rate and the mentors for the essays were wonderful as well. I was completely satisfied and since I passed, the results speak for themselves.
Micromash worked very well for me. Micromash gave me the flexibility to make my own schedule. While most of my classmates were stuck in a classroom studying with a large class, I was able to create my own study plan. Additionally, Micromash was a fraction of the cost of Barbri and PMBR. I have and continue to recommend the program others.
MicroMash was instrumental in my bar passage. With their MBE software not only did I pass the bar, I was also eligible to waive into the Washington D.C. bar. What I liked the most about the software was the way you could choose to review the answers at the end of all the questions or after each individual question. I also liked how they keep track of your MBE strengths and weaknesses in each subject area. This allowed me to focus more on areas where I was weaker before the bar. I consider myself a proud Micromash alumni!

As a certifiably independant person and night owl, MicroMash was everything I need in a bar prep course. I was able to keep doing Pro-Bono work for the local Women’s Shelter, keep a solid workout routine, apply for jobs and keep my sanity. I used Micromash to study for the FL bar exam in the summer of 2007. I wasn’t sure at the time whether I would be in FL to take an actual live course, so I decided to go with the more flexible choice and use Micromash, thinking I’d have the materials and could study them wherever. It worked
I was able to do it on my schedule, wasn’t limited to being at a class every day, and even traveled a fair amount that summer while I studied. I did my micromash questions in FL, GA, NC, on a plane, and on a long car ride to DC. It gave me the flexibility to be where I needed and wanted to be, and take the questions with me. There were some areas of state specific law it wasn’t detailed on (that I later saw on other people’s BARBRI outlines), but nor was that stuff on the Bar, so I guess it didn’t matter! The multiple choice questions were probably the most helpful because they just repeated the same concepts in different ways, same way the Bar exam does, over and over until I understood what a question was asking for when I saw it. I could track my progress well, and the outlines were helpful too. The outlines were a bit harder for me personally to study because they weren’t interactive, but the books were easy to take on the trips and such and read, even a little at a time. The essays were helpful too, and my mentor was very helpful with advice and constructive criticism. It made me feel like I was dealing with a real person throughout the whole process, even though they just graded my essays! The essays and outlines were very helpful, but I would say (especially) if you struggle with multiple choice, Micromash is definitely a good way to go– you will do multiple choice questions until your fingers fall off, and the essay grading is a good way to get a response and advice.
Micro Mash was an excellent bar review course. I attended law school in Louisiana. The legal system in Louisiana is based on civil law. I chose to practice law in the state of Georgia. I was concerned about learning common law. Using the Micro Mash bar review I passed the Georgia bar.
I passed my first bar exam using BARBRI. For my second bar exam, in a different state, I thought I would save some money and use MicroMash. I was disappointed. The personal “tutor” didn’t respond to my questions – she later said she was sick, but – hello! I have 7 weeks to study for a bar exam, and I can’t wait for you to get well. When I emailed the MicroMash offices, I got a snotty response back from my tutor since I had reported her. The outlines are confusing, and there is very little in the way of charts or past information (like how often certain subjects show up on the essay portion of the exam) that I found so helpful in BARBRI. I ended up borrowing old BARBRI books from a friend and studying from those (and passed). I’m not saying you won’t pass if you use MicroMash, I’m just saying its not a good use of money.
The materials are excellent and unbeatable value from the research that I did. The practice MBE questions were seriously helpful and the explanations as to why each answer option is right or wrong is invaluable. Do try to do all of them as it gets you thinking the right way. Questions will be different on the exam but you’ll be quick and sure about how you analyse them, which gives you more time to consider the answer.
One comment is that for the New York essays especially, outlines are crucial. I got them very affordably on seperac.com. Outlines are also useful for a quick read through just before the MBE. The fact that NY vs multi state differences are highlighted prevents a lot of potential confusion. I also used the seperac technique for learning from outlines, which involved the nerdy process of reading outlines into a dicatphone and listening to them on daily errands. So I recommend Micromash plus Seperac plus a dictaphone!
I took the Nevada Bar exam in 2005 at 56 years of age. I had passed the California Bar Exam in 1975 when my synapses and cerebral cortex were relatively functional; the jury was out on that proposition 30 years later.
I took nothing for granted and studied the materials every day but two from January through the date of the exam. I kept a very strict study schedule and did’t deviate from it for any reason. I concluded my preparation exactly as scheduled — one week before the exam to allow a bit of decompression and to give my brain a break.
The two most troubling and difficult subjects for me were real property possessory rights and the finer points of the evidence law pertaining to character testimony/prior bad acts. These subjects kept me awake at night. Commercial paper was not a subject on the California Bar and I had virtually no experience with the subject but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be (I used a personal check as a foundational point of reference). The reference materials were an excellent source of information on this subject.
The materials provided by MicroMash were outstanding in every instance. I was dismayed at first with the things I was missing on the practice tests and in discussions with the MM tutor. Fortunately, repetition made for better results and this old geezer (I was far and above the oldest guy taking the test in Reno) managed to pass the first time around.

I would recommend micromash to any student taking the bar exam any day. It is very dependable and reliable. I am a foreign trained Attorney. I did not attend law school in the United States. When i relocated to the United States, i did not attend any bar review class. Micromash was all i used. I passed the Tennessee and the New York State Bar. Thanks to Micromash.
After not passing the bar the first time, and realizing if I had just gotten 4.5 more multiple choice questions correct I would have passed, I purchased Micromash.
I hated using it. Well, I just hated the multiple choice questions. Every day I used it. I hated it and fought it tooth and nail. But every day I did 3 hours of micromash. And in the end, I took the bar again in the winter, feeling less confident about my essay answers, but much more confident about my multiple choice answers.
I think I cried more after seeing my name on the pass list, than when I did not see my name on the list the first time.

This is THE best bar study program. I used it for two different bars and was well prepared. My favorite thing is being able to track your progress by subject matter. Not only does this program allow you to take hundreds of realistic multiple choice questions, but it sharpens your subject matter as well with the real time explanations. Who else does that? nobody. Buy it now!!
Micro Mash was the best! For a fraction of the cost of other Bar study programs I received all the information I needed to pass the Bar. I did not have to attend classes, so all the travel time and expenses of those were also eliminated. From the comfort of my home I was able to access all the study tools I needed and had the individualized assistance of my own instructor to give feedback on my answers.
I can’t believe so many people waste their time and money on other programs!
After using another company’s study materials and failing, I can confidently say that trying Micromash and passing, proved to be the far better method for getting instant feedback and memorization. My MBE score improved 15 points and I would recommend it to anyone.
Not a satisfied customer!
I used MicroMash for the NY bar exam but I did not pass the barexam. Althought the price was much less than BarBri and Pieper bar reviews, I later found out why. With BarBri, you get to keep the multiple choice MBE questions in booklets. Instead, MicroMash keeps the questions and only lets you view them online. Once the course is over, the MBE questions are gone. So if you have to retake the barexam, you have to get your MBE questions elsewhere.
Another issue I had with MicroMash was that the font of the MBE questions was so small that I could not read them clearly. They appeared to be font size 8 or smaller. With other bar review courses, the type is much larger. Plus the font was not Times Roman but rather a sort of Ariel, which was not as clear. The font was also not black, but another less readable gray-ish color. I asked my contact if I could get larger type, but I was told it was “one size fits all.”
A third issue was that my essays came back from the attorney with little critique.
Finally, I noticed that the NY business law booklets had mistakes in them. Since I have actual experience working on the subject matter (LLCs and corporations), I knew that MicroMash was incorrect. I pointed this out to my contact, but was told there was no refund once I had received the booklets.
Overall I felt that MicroMash was not worth the money. I will use BarBri.
I chose micro-mash because i detested the “everyone does it this way – don’t be a fool” approach Bar Bri took to marketing. Plus, I hated the way Bar Bri pandered to first year fears in an effort to lock students into a bar review course before the student truly knows whether law school is for them. i just hated the way bar bri went about its business.
turns out, micro mash is owned by the people that own bar bri! talk about a monopoly!
regardless, here’s one thing you learn from micro mash: the key to success is study, study, study, and practice, practice, practice. and micro mash gives you plenty of materials to study and practice with. i suppose you could save the money and compile your own materials (most bar exams focus on the general law you can get out of commercial outlines for a fraction of the micro mash price) and past exams (available on the web). but i used micro mash and knocked the exam out of the ball park. now i represent consumers in class action lawsuits – taking on companies like Thompson West.
I cannot express how thankful/amazed I am as a result of using Mircomash for the Feb 2010 NY Bar Exam. Having graduated from Law school in Ireland 10 years ago, and being in a full time investment banking job, I really didnt believe I could pass first time and secretly was using the February exam as a taster in preparation for July. The software is fantastic and is absolutely spot on in ensuring you focus on the important quirks of the MBE questions. Moreover, the rate at which it makes you remember the information is astounding. 3 hours each morning before work, and an hour in the evenings for 10 weeks was enough to help me get a 146.6 on the MBE. I will ensure that anyone I know doing the Bar Exam uses Micromash if they want to succeed.
I used Micromash to pass both the NJ and NY bars and I did surprisingly well both times. I recommend reading all the responses to the questions and reading all the sample essays. Taking notes on questions you get wrong and on questions you’re not sure about helps, too.
I used MicroMash to study/prepare for the summer 2009 MA bar exam. I passed no problem! The flexible schedule was ideal. After graduating law school in Florida, I had to prepare for my move back to Massachusetts. An in-class review would have been impossible. Not only that, but MicroMash was a much better value as far as pricing goes. The essay graders were really helpful too; lots of great pointers. I don’t know if this system would work for everyone. You definitely have to be able to motivate yourself. If you use what they give you, and stick to the plan, it’s more than enough to get you a passing score.
A friend one year ahead of me in law school recommended Micromash when I was asking about bar exam prep materials. He said that it was on my own shoulders whether I would succeed and did not need to attend boring lectures, fill out pointless worksheets, or waste my time in a classroom. When I researched Micromash online, I was sold when it was priced lessed than the the two major prep courses everyone else takes. I was also really intrigued by having a real attorney review my essays to point out weaknesses and strengths if I stuck with the timeline. I started right away on the program when I received it in the mail. It is very much like a job – you have to put in the time to review the material, but that doesnt mean the time cannot be spent by the pool, under a tree at the park, or in bed late at night. I really liked the flexibility in my study time. If I didnt feel like reviewing the material in the book, I did practice multi-state questions instead on my laptop. It was great not having to show up to a class and listen to someone drone on about family law. My friends were miserable and hated studying. They really envied that I had the freedom with my time to exercise in the afternoon and not have to show up to class every morning like they did. The most awesome thing about the program was that I felt completely prepared for the bar exam. I did not cram days before to review the material I did not spend too much time on. I did not worry that I was not going to do well. I reviewed all of the material in the books, wrote all of the essays according to the timeframe, and answered all of the multi-state questions correctly on my laptop. I felt confident and ready to pass the bar, and I did so with ease. For those friends of mine who did not pass the first time around, I told them to look into Micromash because the program really does work.
I usually scored rather poorly on standardized testings. The ACT and LSAT were nightmare scores.
After graduating from Law School I was looking for something that would help boost the MBE score. I didn’t even follow the Micromash schedule, although I tried for a while, but I wound up scoring over 150 on my state’s MBE and was in the top 10% of my state on Constitutional Law for the MBE.
I can only imagine how good the MBE score would have been if I had followed the schedule… I give credit to God first then hard work with Micromash’s MBE workout.
I attended Duquesne University School of Law, a small school in Western Pennsylvania, and took the California Bar with almost no knowledge of California Law. I attribute my successful first time passage of the California Bar to my education and the use of Micro Mash (“MM”). I purchased the multi-state, state and writing programs through MM. The multi-state program was phenomenal. It tested focused on my weakness, which were mortgages, which helped my realize that I need to better prepare in this area. There were a number of mortgage questions on the multi-state test and I’m happy I had a program which brought my delinquency of knowledge in this area up to speed.
If you are taking the California Bar you need to take an extra writing course. The CA Bar Examiners want a specific style of writing. The tutor I was given through MM who graded my practice exams was particularly insightful. He helped me to structure my essays in a methodical and organized fashion. He also helped to notice key points I was missing during practice seesions. While I had a friend who spent twice as much on bar prep I continually noticed that throughout my studies I was much more knowledgeable about CA law and was more satisfied with my program as I felt like it was helping me (and it actually was).
I would highly recommend the mutli-state and writing programs offered by Micro Mash. Coupled with diligence and decent law school education you will be sure to pass any bar exam.

Micromash is money well spent. I heard about it from a graduate of my law school who, like me, was already a working professional with a family. The other bar review courses wasted so much time; traveling to a remote location to hear a recorded lecture, hours of black letter outline reviews, etc. Nonsense.
Time spent with micromash is time spent preparing for the bar. The program tracks your time, areas of study, areas of weakness, and is the most efficient study tool on the market. I used Micromash (only Micromash) and I passed the Massachusetts Bar with ease the first time. For those who value efficiency and results, Micromash is hands down the best choice for bar review. I studied for the February 2008 MA bar using Micromash and passed the first time. My daughter was less than a year old while I was studying for the Bar and getting a sitter for all of the time it would have taken to study using Barbri or any of other programs was not practical for me. The Micromash study materials and especially the software were perfect for studying at home whenever I had time. Because the fact patterns and themes on the multi-state portion are usually similar to questions in previous years, studying using the Micromash tests is a GREAT way to prepare for the exam. The software essentially keeps repeating the question at different times until you get it right. The Micromash Bar Review is a really effective option for studying for the Bar.
When I first signed up for the MicroMash program, I knew I was making a big decision. I had just spent three years in law school and it was all boiling down to one test. One test would determine if I was successful or not. So, I took the decision of choosing my study tools with great care and ultimately, I decided to use MicroMash. It was a great decision because I passed the Tennessee Bar Exam on the First try!
The MicroMash program allowed to me study at my own pace and focuse on the areas that I felt needed the most attention. Also, I was able to study at any location that had a internet connection. So, I knew from the start that the program was tailored to my desire to be free from a classroom. However, I did have concerns about whether MicroMash would allow me to be successful in passing the bar.
After I began studying with MicroMash, my concerns began to vanish. The Program allowed me to practice on thousands of questions and it tracked my progress while allowing me to see how I was doing in comparison to other people using the program. This knoweldge allowed to me to focuse more on the areas that I was the weakest and the instant results dictated my study habits on a daily basis.
After a summer of taking online practice tests, I wondered how I would do when it came time to take the test using not a computer, but an actual pencil and answer sheet. To help with this transition, MicroMash provided me with hard copy sample tests that I completed during the week prior to the Exam. To my satisfaction, the results of my hard copy test corresponded with the results I had been achieving all summer long using the computer program. So, when It came time to take the exam, I felt prepared and confident that I would be successful.
But the MBE is just one part of the exam and my nerves and hands dreaded the numerous essay questions that I would be required to submit. Afterall, its impossible to pass the bar without successfully completing the essay portion. To this end, MicroMash provided me with State Specific information that we well outlined. Also, I was given a book that included actual essay questions from previous exams. While the MicroMash Online program does not cover the state specific portion, the mentor I was assigned to did. What I gathered from my studies is that how you present your answer is just as important as the information contained in the answer. I spent countless hours practicing not only what information I was going to give to the question, but my answer format. By test time, I could formulate any question into my bar exam format and I often found myself doing this with almost everything. The feedback i recieved from my mentor indicated that I was on the right track and it gave me confidence going into the exam.
Confidence can seemingly be an overlooked area of a test takers ability to be successful. Its my opinion that you must be confident to be successful. The exam is too short to spend time fretting or dwelling over anything. MicroMash gave me the confidence to find and present answers to all questions with accuracy and quickness.
Everybody is different, and you need to pick a study tool that is suited to your particular needs. But there should be no doubt that MicroMash will give you all the tools you will need to be successsful on the bar exam. As long as you are willing to put in the work, you will be successful using this program.
I used Micromash for the February 2010 bar exam. After having looked at questions from Barbri, PMBR, and others, I found that the Micromash questions were the most on par with the actual MBE. I worked through the thousands of questions offered by Micromash making sure to read why I answered correctly, or incorrectly. I used Micromash to study for aand pass the February 2010 Michigan bar. It was great because I work full time, and have a 2 year old daughter. Micromash allowed me to study on my own time, and covered all the material thoroughly. I am grateful that Micromash is there for those of us who have absolutely no time to sit through Bar-Bri. After graduation from law school all my classmates began their various study programs for the upcoming bar exam. Myself, I chose to postpone my preparation in order to complete an MBA program. When it came time to prepare for my bar exam I consulted with my classmates and decided that more classroom time was not what I needed. I have always been successful studying on my own and a friend of mine recommended MicroMash for the MBE section of the bar. When I reviewed for the February 2010 DC Bar Exam, I was working as a political staffer on a senatorial campaign. Now, as anybody that has worked on a political campaign can tell you, the hours are insane. I was working 65-70 hours per week, and could only study for the bar exam before work, after work, and during my lunch breaks. Micromash was extremely efficient in maximizing the time that I had to study. The outlines were concise and to the point, and the writing tips were simple yet very effective.
I cannot say enough good things about the software either. The questions looked very similar to the ones on the actual test. On MBE day, I was able to finish both MBE sections in under 2 hours! This was all thanks to Micromash.
When I registered for the bar while working on a campaign, people told me I was crazy. Maybe I was crazy, crazy like a fox! I passed DC and I plan on taking the CA bar in a few years and Micromash will be there again to help me get through that as well.
I used PMBR and Barbri without success. I heard about MicroMash from a fellow student who had very little time to prepare, was an average student, had a family and a full time job. He swore by it. It was the best money I spent from the time I started law school. I highly recommend the program. It is geared so you cannot fail if you follow it. It can be done on your own time which is critical for those of us who have families, children and jobs. It also takes into account the changes the bar examiners make to the exam from year to year unlike PMBR and Barbri. I strongly suggest using MicroMash before signing on for any other program. It is the best money you will spend.

MicroMash was the right choice for me when I was studying for the Bar (California, passed on the first try). I liked the flexibility it offered to study on my own schedule, and to spend the most time on the topics that I most needed to study. The timed MBEs, graded practice and feedback from my mentor were helpful in judging my progress. And, of course, it’s a more economical choice than classes. After those years of law school, the last thing I wanted to do was spend the next two months in MORE big classes that weren’t geared specifically to my needs or interests. Thankfully, with MicroMash, I didn’t need to! Would highly recommend it to others who are self-motivated and skeptical of the BigLaw machine that drives people into an expensive two-month extension of law school…
For the MBE. I thought MM had the best questions, much better than what I saw with BarBri. BarBri was either unrealistically easy or out of this world convoluted. Most MBE questions are not like that – most are relatively short and to the point, though still difficult. I used Micromash together with PMBR. Yes, I know PMBR also has a lot of looong and obsolete format MBE questions from older editions, but their most recent work covers all the latest MBE trends the best. MM outlines were thoroough and their software was also a huge help, convenience wise.
That said, I thought MM fell short in the essay arena. I used their coach program and was only marginally satisfied. Apparently it is really a gamble as to who you are assigned. FIrst of all, MM does not give you a model answer for the essays, but instead includes a rubric, which for me was not as helpful. I can read a rubric myself – what helps is seeing how an expert would write the same essay instead. One day I ran accross an essay question in the MBE package that was also in the BarBri yellow book (more on that later). There was also a sample answer which supposedly represents one that could be given by an expert under ordinary conditions (i.e., not the sixth essay of the exam, written in pencil while popping an adderall). I was confident the sample answer had to be pretty good, so just to see what kind of an expert I hired from Micromash, I cut and pasted the sample answer from BarBri and sent it into the Micromash coach.
She gave it a B+ and a few comments. BTW, my assigned coach graduated from a T14 school a only year ahead of me and was working for a temp agency. Last I heard, she still is. Just goes to show the subjective factor of the grading.
As for BarBri’s yellow book (part of their package), it includes very well written example answers to the essay questions. Also, Micromash is essentially only selling you the same essays and rubrics that you can buy from NCBE directly, albeit in one easy packages (yes it is the exact same product as NCBE).
When it comes to Micromash, I’d say the MBE course is great but the essay area is hit or miss. Your call. And I did not bother with the guarantee since the process was somewhat cumbersome. For example, you have to spend exactly a minute and a half on each essay question (using the software) even if you absolutely know the answer. That and other things turned it into a distraction from the ultimate goal, getting past the hazing ritual that is the bar exam.
I graduated from law school 14 years ago and must say that the Micro Mash way is the only way to get an excellent refresher on the basic black letter law.
The Micro Mash method of MEB and review is outstanding in that the system takes you back to your weak ares and then directs you to a comprehensive review to master that area. I will also say that the cost compared to other BAR Reviews is also great. You will not master your law review over night but will reach the same object in time. One more thing the Micro Mash Method allows you to monitor your progress as you desire. I found Micro Mash to be just what I needed to propare for the BAR on my own time and at my own pace.
I used Micro Mash for the 2007 California Bar Exam, and did not use any other preparation program. I did order some additional, California essay books, but did not do any lecture-style prep courses. I guess I figured my time was better used studying at home than driving back and forth to class. I passed the California exam on my first sitting.
MicroMash provided everything I needed to get ready for – and pass – the Illinois bar. Probably the highlight of the MM packages was the support I received from my “mentor” who read and critiqued my essays. I also thought the outline books were great, and I definitely saved a BUNDLE over what I’d have had to pay for that high-priced alternative!
I’ve used MicroMash twice, once for the 2000 Maryland exam and once for the 2009 North Carolina exam. Twice with MicroMash I’ve passed on the first attempt. There aren’t words for me to recommend MicroMash highly enough.
I bought just MicroMash MBE section. I passed the California bar on my third try. I have no idea how much I got on my MBE portion of the exam, thus, I can’t make any judgments. I like the program. I just did not like the graphical-user interface design. You know the drill you have to read the call of the question first and answers, and after that the passage related to that question. I had to scroll down to read the question and it was very painful because I had to use built-in mouse on my laptop. I was loosing my patience. I called MM and asked the representative if it is any way to maximize the window to avoid the scrolling, but it was unavoidable. Aside from that I liked the MM MBE except the price. I believe that price is not fair and inflated.
I found very helpful to use PMBR in addition to MM just for the sake of seeing difference between explanations to the same question, then, analyze and choose that one that make sense the most.
I used MicroMash to study for the Florida Bar Examination. In an overabundance of caution, I also used Barbri, and PMBR. MicroMash was the best of all three. It was easy to use and very thorough. I memorized the answers to practice essays and the constant multiple choice practice taught me a lot. I stopped going to the Barbri classes. (Who wants to sit around for hours and watch a video.) PMBR was a waste of money, I went the first day and never returned. MicroMash had more than prepared me for the bar examination. As I sat in that cold room, I felt as prepared as anyone can feel who is sitting for the bar exam. When I saw questions I had seen before, I thanked God I had chosen MicroMash. Thanks to MicroMash, I passed the Florida Bar Exam. (Both days and with a very high score.) When I decided to take the Connecticut Bar Examination, MicroMash was the only choice. I was working a full time job in FL and did not have several months of free time to study. Two weeks before the exam, I stopped working and began to study in earnest. I passed the CT Bar Exam. That is the power of MicroMash.
I loved MicroMash and this is coming from a book lover who missed the ability to highlight and take notes in the margins! MM questions were more like those on the bar, and that’s a fact. Plus, you don’t need huge blocks of class time because you set your own hours. MM has feedback to let you know what you need to study more . I used MM as a complex of study during my semester of law school (we have a pre-bar prep program) and then up to the bar. It was awesome. Passed the bar the first time, too! Can’t beat that! At the time I used it, it was the best value and the best option for me!
I had a bad experience with Micromash. Due to their poor billing management (having to do with a generated credit card number to prevent online fraud), they claimed that I didn’t pay my bill. This could have been corrected by them with a simple phone call, but they didn’t bother. Instead, they sent letters saying they were going to send a nasty letter to the character examiner in the state where I took the Bar. I thought this was a very low class way in which to handle an account dispute. I would never recommend anyone to Micromash to anyone because of that.
But, on top of that, I took another bar exam, and used BarBri materials, which I found to be infinitely better researched and much more informative.
I used MicroMash to smash the GA bar exam! I found the flexible program to be efficient and affordable. Especially useful were the multitude of online study questions, which supplied learning material (explanations on why answers were correct or incorrect) while allowing for multiple choice question answering. By simply working through an assortment of questions everyday I was able to pass with ease the multi-state portion and the rest of the exam. I highly recommend MicroMash as a method to the pass the bar exam.
The MicroMash Way was invaluable to my success on the Illinois July 2009 Bar Exam. MicroMash was a cost efficient and worthwhile investment. I needed a home study course that would allow me flexibility in my schedule but would provide the materials and resources necessary for success and I found that in MicroMash. I was out of state studying for the Illinois Bar exam and the MicroMash materials were exactly what I needed to become familiar with the differences between general common law concepts and specific state practices. The MBE software allowed me to track which areas I did well in as well as areas I needed greater focus. My essay mentor provided me with technical substantive feedback, which helped take my essay writing to the next level. Don’t buy into the “if it cost more it must be better” hype. MicroMash is a great program, you just have to believe.
I first chose to do MicroMash because I was living in a small town and too far from any BarBri courses for the Texas Bar. After preparing on my own for several weeks, I was SO glad that I chose MicroMash and NOT BarBri because I felt like I made the most of my time and learned things that the BarBri students did not. When I got to the exam, I overheard so many other examinees who were completely thrown off by some of the MBE questions, but not me!! I had seen all of those questions before using the MicroMash MBE software. The only area that MM did not prepare me for was the Texas Evidence & Procedure Exam– where you have to know the names of the court documents (not simply called a complaint, answer, motion in Texas). I did my lawschool outside of TX so, I wasn’t really prepared for that and I don’t think MM did as good a job of that portion of the materials. But apparently I did enough to pass on the first time by a good margin!! A year later I moved to a small town in New Mexico and was disappointed that MM did not have state-specific materials. I did use the MBE software and the Performance Exam materials and a BarBri NM book (not nearly as comprehensive as the MM Texas books). I passed on the first time as well!!
I used MicroMash for the CA bar on my second try. I wish I had done it the first time around. The multiple choice section of the bar is so important to passing and can be overwhelming to study for. MicroMash’s personalized program that helps you analyze where your weaknesses are and fix them was invaluable. When I took the bar after using MicroMash I finished the multiple choice section 1/2 hour early and passed.
I self studied with Micromash and passed the California bar exam on my first try. The materials contained some errors and I had some trouble with the MBE software, however, I was diligent and followed a tight schedule so what amounted to small problems didn’t have a bad effect in the end. If you can be structured with your time and efforts in bar preparation, Micromash is an affordable alternative to expensive bar prep courses.
I bought the full study prep package from MicroMash; the MBE, MEE and Illinois State specific. I took and passed the Indiana Bar Exam in 2008, but decided to take the Illinois Bar Exam in Feb 2010. I hate to admit this, but the policy where if you did not turn-in the weekly essay assignments you would not be able to get the refresher course if you did not pass the exam for free really worked for me. I am practicing law in Indiana and taking classes on the weekends for an LLM. I had very little time to study. I signed up for the February exam thinking that I would not pass the first time and would need to retake. However, by being forced (out of my own cheapness of not having to re-pay) to turn-in the essays and also practicing at least 25 multiple choice questions daily I was able to pass the exam my first try. Also, the format of the books – use of fonts and spacing- made me have to focus on the content of the text rather than visually memorizing the page. I didn’t have to sit through three hours of lectures on topics I had already learned in law school to get the key words and refresher of concepts. It made me use my time more efficiently. Finally, the cut and dry aspect of the program alleviated the mental/emotional blocks that sometimes get in the way of taking such large exams. I would recommend someone using the MicroMash system. No frills or big deals with this prep program – just the information and practice questions needed.

I found MicroMash to be cumbersome and being required to take the course seemed like an “arrangement between my school and MM” – not sure what that inside story is — however, I did not pass the bar exam, even though I was required to pass the MM exit exam. The course is basically a rip-off in my opinion and to be required to take the course as opposed to choosing which bar review program you wish to pay for, is not right.
I looked PMBR material over while at law school and was not satisfied with the brief explanations that were provided for preferring one answer choice to another. Then I decided to try Micromach on the recommendation of a friend. The explanations were deep and thorough. Where, on occasions, I had cause to email a doubt to Micromash staff, I received a response the next day (which I hope they can correct). The attorney assigned to review my essays was prompt and very good. Needless to say, I succeeded at first attemtp.
Anyone thinking of writing a bar exam should help themselves by delving into the Micromash Program. You cannot go wrong if you practice enough with the program.
Due to strange happenstance, I always found myself in a state other than the one I was taking the bar in. Thus, I needed a program that would prepare me without having to be physically present for bar classes and lectures. Additionally, because I was working at the time and because I am definitely the type of student who zones out when a professor monotonously plods along, I decided to use Micromash.
The first time I was studying for the Rhode Island bar exam. I studied far less than many of my recent classmates who used a different program locally. Subsequently, I was thrilled to find out that I passed the Rhode Island bar and got a great score on the multi-state (Rhode Island actually tells you your actual score pass or fail). Due to this experience I used Micromash to prepare for the Massachusetts and Virginia bars as well. Each time I studied less than before and each time I passed — three states on my first three attempts with Micromash. Fortunately, I do not plan on taking another bar anytime soon; however, if I did I would use Micromash. It is a great program providing good overall info on the state portion and awesome prep on the multistate.
I used micromash for the Texas and the New Mexico Bar Exams. I passed both exams not only because I had gone through more multi-state questions than everyone else, but because I was confident that I had done everything I could have possibly done to prepare for the multi-state.
My wife used micromash for the Texas Essays/Civil Procedure/Evidence/Criminal Procedure/Multi-state Essay portion of the Texas Bar Exam and the feedback she received on her practice essay answers and the focused studying enabled her to do very well on this section of the Texas Bar exam.
I thought I was in good shape for the multistate: friends had given me tons of review and practice material. I was getting between 65% and 80% correct so I thought the MBE would be a breeze. When I started using Micromash I was shocked that I was only getting 35% correct. Having to step up to the next level with Micromash brought me to the point where I could face the MBE with confidence. 163 scaled. -Ryan
Some of my friends scoffed at my plan to use MicroMash, but in the middle of the Summer as they complained about getting up for class, and told of people sleeping through the lectures and playing on Facebook, etc., I knew I had made the wise choice for me. I worked at my own pace to drill on questions and review only those areas that I needed to, which focused my precious time and energy. I highly recommend, oh, and saving a few thousand dollars also helped!
Some of the other well known Bar progams did not work for me. MircoMash was great and I passed the Texas Bar with flying colors!!
I used the typical study guides for my bar review with no sucess. I switched to Micromash and found their software for the Multistate portion of the bar exam to be terrific. It was so easy to load on your computer and you could do your study questions at your convienence. I would recommend micromash to anyone but especially to those that have had difficulty passing the bar exam.
I used MicroMash for two different states (MI & NC), passed both the first time. The best thing was that I could work at my own pace and in my own time. I was working full time, had gone to law school at night, and the thought of sitting through a bar review class raised more dread in me than the thought of the exam itself! I felt I was able to keep more balance in my life that way too, could study for hours when the panic set in but enjoy an evening out without feeling guilty. I still use the study materials for reference. I would definitely recommend MicroMash to anyone facing a bar exam.
As being a law student tends to induce a kind of pre-bar mania, often manifesting as a constant desire to review note cards and other collateral study materials, it is great to know that there is company like Micromash taking the guesswork out of bar preparation.
I purchased the MBE prep package the summer before the February bar exam. The battery of questions and explanations supplemented by the reference materials provided an invaluable tool to measure my personal progress against that of my peers. I would typically check my performance on any set of MBE questions against other Micromash users every night. It almost became a family ritual.
While other bar review companies apparently value volume over substance, nearly “snowing-in” a bar prepper with piles of collateral information, Micromash’s review materials remained, at once, concise and easy to transport. I would routinely put aside my MBE materials from other prominent bar-prep entities in favor of my Micromash materials in an effort to save time and heartache. While the above may be convincing, the results are even better.
Comfortable in my MBE performance based on my Micromash performance assessment, I stopped doing MBE questions 1 month before the bar exam to concentrate on my writing and substantive review.

Everyone has different learning styles. Micromash is perfect for those who prefer setting their own schedules versus abiding by a generic preset lesson plan. Micromash does not bore you with lectures, it helps you speed through the subjects with which you are more familiar, it gives you instant feedback on your timed tests and, maybe best of all, it does not require that you study from any specific city.
I was never the type of person who learned well from large group lectures. Knowing that I study and learn best on my own made Micromash an obvious choice for my bar exam preparation. The ability to study from home saved me two hours a day in commuting time. I truly credit the computer program and the practice essay questions for my passing both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Bar exams on the first try in 2008. I would recommend Micromash to anybody with absolutely no reservations.
Micromash was really helpful for the MBE portion of the bar exam. Since you review the answers right away, it is easy to learn. The software allows you so measure your progress relative to other users. You can focus your study in the areas that trouble you, and maintain consistent results in your stronger subjects. I found the actual MBE much easier than the Micromash practice questions, which means you can trust that the level you reach in Micromash is at least what you will reach on the bar.
I used some borrowed Micromash books to study for the essay portion. These books were not that helpful as the format was not as condensed as it could have been. There were long sections of statute in the book, making for very dry and lengthy reading. In July, I switched over to borrowed Barbri materials for the essays, and they were much better. The Barbri essay book was very helpful, and included nuances in Virginia law I would not have gleaned from other sources.
All in all, I highly recommend the Micromash MBE software. I cannot do the same for the essay materials.
I had bad grades. Such bad grades that I received a letter from the Dean around graduation stating that I had better study and hard because the school did not want a poor passage rate due to me. Based on my grades, it was unlikely that I would pass. With this uphill battle ahead of me, I signed up for MicroMash and decided to study at home. This way, it was all me – either way the test ended up. No one could claim that I only passed because I had a good teacher or a good class. The program was what I made out of it.
I studied every day and had a part time job at the Gap – another no-no in the bar study world. Every day, I would wake up and do questions. Day in and day out. When it came time to take the exam, I had over 20,000 questions under my belt – and I was prepared. I passed the exam while many of my peers failed that had taken other programs and got better grades. I have no doubt that MicroMash helped me pass the bar and I suggest it to anyone that is taking the test.
I took and passed the D.C. Bar exam after law school using BarBri, but I was surprized by the way BarBri over-emphasized memorizing the law and underemphasized the technique required to write the exams. Plus it was a lot of money to sit in a room and watch a video lecture.
When I decided to take the CA bar in 2009 to make it easier to move back to my home state and still be a lawyer, I decided to go with MicroMash because: (1) they offered self-study and I knew I didn’t want to sit through BarBri videos again, (2) they offered a personal writing coach who reviewed and graded my practice essays, and (3) they offered all of this at about 1/3 the cost of BarBri (even at the BarBri “alumni” rate).
Even though I was two years out of law school and working full-time, I was able to keep a good study schedule and I passed CA in July 2009. I credit it 100% to MicroMash and my writing coach.
My experience with MicroMash was great! I commuted a good distance to Law School during my last year and was trying to save as much money as possible. MicroMash appealed to me since my home was at least an hour away from any other Bar Review Course site, and MicroMash promised that I could prepare from the comfort of my own home. On top of that, it GUARANTEED a PASS on the Virginia Bar Exam. Just to be able to make that guarantee meant that whatever they were doing must work. I adhered to the structure and schedule that the course demanded and the work was tough. However, three months after taking the Bar Exam in Virginia (a notoriously difficult exam), I got the news that I had passed. Since taking the course, I have recommended it to anyone preparing for the bar exam.
My mentor did not respond to two of my essays and ignored my emails until the actual day of the bar exam. I cannot express how disappointed with Micromash I am. Do not send me any more emails asking me to sell your terrible service for you.
I passed the Uniform CPA exam, all four parts, on my first try in 2000. The self guided study was perfect for me. Additionally, I was working full time with two small children so I needed to be able to squeeze study wherever possible. I liked the ability to choose the number of questions I wanted to see so I felt I was finishing my sessions, even if they were short. I am a repeat customer and used Micromash to prepare for the Rhode Island Bar exam in 2006. I was working full time and had another positive outcome.
Micromash is an excellent self-study program for first timers who are are self-confident, self-motivating or simply study better by themselves. Micromash is also great for new attorneys looking to pick up a second license but who do not have the time to dedicate to a traditional “in-class” bar prep course.
I tried PMBR but once you do the questions then what – buy another book? Micromash keeps grilling you on the questions you miss until it sinks in. It shows your weaknesses so you can work on them. The repetition works!
Anyone that has a laptop (which is everyone!) should be using Micromash. You get constant access to study materials without schlepping extra books. If I had originally bought Micromash I know I wouldn’t have had to take the bar a second time.
I was a non-traditional law student. I had a full-time job and a family. Attending night classes with a commute of 80 miles each way. A lot of effort and vacation time was spent just attending school. When I graduated much of my vacation time was used up and I did not have much time to devote to studying for the Bar. I could not attend the big-name prep courses and ended up with only the two weeks prior to the exam to devote purely to studying. I took my MicroMash materials and laptop to my hunting camp and spent the 2 weeks working on the exam.
I was really concerned when I took the PA Bar Exam that I hadn’t spent enough time hitting the books. I thought for sure I would be taking the exam again. However, I was surprised to learn one October morning that I passed the Bar the first time. Not only did I pass the Bar, but I did quite well.
I used Micromash in 2003 for the Massachussetts bar and passed the first time NEVER doubting if I had passed or not. I used Micromash in 2010 for the Florida bar and again I passed the first time (just got the results in April). Hands down this is the best course to make sure you pass the bar. I used BarBri as well and Micromash uses the same software for the practice questions and as far as their lectures, I don’t think they are needed if you follow all of Micromash’s format and practice questions. Truly a very positive experience and would recommend it to anyone… afterall, it has worked twice for me in two states!
I only used MicroMash for the Bar. I heard about it through a one week Bar review my law school offered for free. I used the Michigan State and MBE addition. My MicroMash tutor reviewed my essays and answered any and all questions in a prompt manner. I thought that the computer program was very easy to use, and for me was the best way to study for MBE. By the time I took the actual Bar its questions seemed like review and were overall much easier than the ones I had been doing.
I multi-stated out on my first try on the Michigan Bar. I could not have done it without MicroMash. I would recommend it to anyone.
MicroMash is the only bar review that I would recommend. I used it to pass the California and Illinois bar, both on the first try. It is a comprehensive program that allows you to learn at your own pace without wasting hours a day listening to someone read you an outline (that you are fully capable of reading yourself). The result is that I went into the Bar more confident, and more relaxed than my collegues.
Positives:
Micromash is less expensive than BarBri. It is good if you prefer to study on your own, as I do. The MPRE software is easy to use and teaches you what you need to know for that portion of the exam. My attorney-mentor gave me helpful feedback as I practiced my state essay questions. And the most important factor — I passed the exam on my first attempt.
Negatives:
Both the MPRE software and the print outlines had PLENTY of spelling and grammatical errors. Also, the MPRE software had quite a few of multiple choice questions that were wrong as a matter of law, or else they were worded so poorly that they could have more than one plausible interpretation. But, I suppose this is how Micromash is able to offer a less expensive product — they just don’t pay their staff as much to review the material prior to publication.
So, while Micromash is not perfect, it got the job done for me.
micromash mbe material was the best. read the material then spend a couple of hours a day taking multi choice on computer. my best mbe score was 168 for the florida bar.
Unsuccessful on my first attempt, I signed up to take the Ohio Bar Exam five years after graduation from law school. Since graduation I moved, worked full-time for an insurance company, married, and our first child was on the way.
Needless to say, I needed an efficient and thorough review course. Every other course required driving an hour and a half round trip three nights a week for lectures – not happening. Not so with MicroMash. I signed up for the Full Ohio course. My assigned mentor contacted me immediately and we exchanged emails several times before I received the materials which was quick. She knew my situation, priorities, and areas I needed to work on and tailored her advice to me. A quick software download and I started.
The MBE program provided an organized and structured plan so all I had to do was set aside the time. I loved jumping in and doing questions right away – no preparing to prepare to do practice exams. I did 50 questions the first night and was up to doing full MBE exam-length question sets three weeks prior to the exam.
My mentor, who was an attorney (I checked!), vetted my essays completely and recommended additional materials to review. I can’t say enough about how great it was to have an experienced advocate reviewing my writing and responding to follow up questions. I’m sure I abused the privilege but she never complained. She even sent me a “good luck” email the day before the exam!
Needless to say, I passed. Not only passed but wrecked it. By exam day(s), I had done so many questions that I wasn’t keyed up (too much) when it came time to flip the book over and start – it was automatic. Two of the essay questions were almost identical to my practice ones. I was done with time to spare on the MBE and only ran out of time on the first MPT because I tried to cover some sub-issues.
If you hadn’t guessed, I highly recommend MicroMash for all of us who are short on time and heavy on demands and goals.
I was taking the bar in a second state, CT. Unfortunately the guy who was supposed to help us with the essay section knew nothing about CT format. He kept on coaching the IRAC method, never really helping with the law just the method I had down from law school and the Mass bar., issue, rule etc. It wasn’t until the second day of the bar exam, the essay day, that I hear CT wants you to state your conclusion first then make an argument. After as mild panic attack I wrote my essays. Thankfully I passed, but it was no thanks to MicroMash.
I am French, I only studied for one year in a US law school (LLM) and I pass the NY bar exam using MicroMash. I was studying from France and Micromash was very convenient. The books were definitely thorough, my mentor was very helpful and gave me precious advices and the MBE software was great. I recommend MicroMash without hesitation. It provides all you need to pass the bar exam.
MicroMash is hands-down the best bar prep product out there. I took the VA bar in in 2007 and failed it. I knew I was going to sit for the bar again, but needed a change of direction as far as preparation. After a great deal of research, I found that MicroMash was consistantly ranked as one of the best study prep products among bar takers. MicroMash is incredibly easy to set up and use (thanks, in large part, to terrific customer service) and it truly is designed to higlight those areas in your studies that require greater attention and focus. I was working full time while studying, so I especially like the fact that I could easily and efficiently run through a number of drills virtually any time, anywhere on my laptop. There is no doubt that MicroMash was a large factor in my passing the bar the second time around. Terrific product.
I’ll be frank, I did not pass the bar exam on the first try. I had enrolled in BarBri during my third year, and spent an entire two months prepping for the NYS test. That was just what you did. It didn’t work for me. I found the hours of video lectures more tedious than helpful. While waiting for the next exam date, BarBri approaced me and offered to let me retake the course at a discounted rate. Thinking there was something wrong with me and not the program, I agreed, and paid an additional $750 to retake the program. Fool me once, right? I had done well in Law School, and couldn’t understand why I was having a problem with this test. Third time, I ditched Barbri and bought Micromash. I studied at home, thousands of questions, repeated over and over until I got them right. Essays reviewed by a person I could talk to, and ask questions of. Practice exams that higlighted your problem areas. Feedback not only from the computer program, but from an actual person that had been there. I passed. It was because of Micromash. No doubt in my mind.
I took the Florida bar three times before I passed…each time I failed due to my poor performance on the MBE. I generally overthink multiple choice questions and all three times I took Florida’s bar I used Barbri mbe review and pmbr mbe review. I finally passed the third time after spending countless hours and dollars on ineffective and antiquated bar review materials (barbri and pmbr). In February I sat for two bar exams-MA and NH-and passed both! How? Micromash. Please take my advice and use Micromash for both mbe and state preparation. It is highly effective because the focus is on practice questions. The online software provides instant feedback per question and saves all your progress in addition to keeping track of areas you need to review/improve. I was able to complete all the mbe practice questions per subject before the bar exams and felt overprepared going into the exams. Forget classes and lengthy outlines…use Micromash and do all the questions online and you’ll pass. Thank you Micromash!
Three years ago, I was working my way through law school, and because I had a job that I couldn’t afford to let go, I wound up with 18 hours my last semester, and no time to study for a month in some big room with a hundred other students.
I was a big anxious about using MicroMash, as it was not as well known, but it did the job. I just followed the program, passed the bar, and now I’m in my third year as a solo.
MicroMash was an awesome course! I recommend it to everyone I know preparing for the bar, especially the NY Bar exam. I had taken the NY exam 2 times previously, my essay score was good, but my MBE score kept preventing me from passing. I did the MicroMash program and my MBE score improved by over 30 raw points, enough to not only pass the NY Bar but also high enough to waive into the DC Bar which was my goal. I had been out of law school for over eight years when my wife and I moved to a state without reciprocity. I had to take the bar exam again! After passing the bar in my home state, I swore I would never take another bar exam. I had used a different study guide for my first bar exam. This time around, I used the self-study MicroMash curriculum. In two months I was prepared to take the exam, and I took it and passed! My colleagues couldn’t believe how efficient the MicroMash curriculum really was!
I was 54 years old when I decided to grow up and become a lawyer. I still had my own business so when I looked for a Bar Review course, I needed something that I could do on my own and didn’t require me to spend every day for four weeks watching pre-recorded videos at the local university. I used Micromash to prepare for the July 2004 Rhode Island Bar Exam and the July 2009 Florida Bar Exam. I passed each exam on the first try with quite a few points to spare. I could not afford the BarBri classes and so I signed up for Micromash. I was nervous since I did not know anyone who had taken Micromash. I had very little time to study and so Micromash was easy to work into my own schedule since I could study when I had the time. I only really studied for about two weeks and I passed the bar with flying colors. The database of questions is very helpful and the feedback on the essays was very useful. I highly recommend this program. Also, I suggested this program to a friend who used BarBri and failed the FL Bar five times. She took Micromash and passed the bar with thirteen extra points in the Florida section, due to Micromash!
I passed the VA bar exam on my first try. I thought the books were really comprehensive, easy to read and understand. Also, the software for the MBE portion was really great. Once again, ease of use and comprehensive explanations to the answers of the MBE questions. I definitely reccommend this, however, you have to be extremely disciplined and be able to study without attending classes.
I used Micromash to prepare for the Feb. 2008 Texas bar exam, and I couldn’t be happier. Being self-guided, it allowed me to use my time in the most efficient and flexible manner possible, which was important given that I was working while preparing for the bar exam. It also allowed me to rigorously focus on the areas of my weakness, instead of spending time listening to lectures in areas that I was already strong in. The MBE prep software is fantastic, and it allowed me to do very well on the MBE portion of the bar exam as well. I enjoyed the personal feedback I got regarding the practice exams as well, which was more thorough and in-depth than I expected. I passed the bar exam, and am overall very pleased with the decision to use Micromash. I’ve recommended it several times to people preparing for the bar exam, and will do so again.
Simply put, the entire MicroMash program is far superior to the BarBri program. BarBri wastes time through their use of lectures to fill out outlines (often just sitting in a giant room and filling in blanks on an outline which was almost already completely filled out), whereas MicroMash simply gives you the material you need to pass the exam, and allows you to use your time as you best see fit. The computer software program which covers the MBE section was great in that it allowed for learning while actually taking practice exams. I’d suggest MicroMash to anyone a million times over.
I had one month to prepare to take the NC bar exam while working full time. I would not have passed without MicroMash. It’s that simple.
I used Micromash to study for the PA bar in 2006. It was so much cheaper than BarBri, and I thought it would be a much better use of my time than sitting in structured classes. I was right! I am fairly disciplined, so I knew I could handle studying on my own. I heard about the product from our law school rep for Micromash, Eva (at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law). She did a great job promoting the product. One of the advantages is that you can study for the bar anywhere. So I studied for the bar while on vacation on Cape Cod, and I studied for the bar while staying in DC for a week to prepare for my job. I could take my materials to a coffee shop to study or to a park on a nice day. I really liked the freedom of it. I did have trouble finishing the extensive multiple choice questions. But, in the end, it didn’t matter because I passed with flying colors. Whenever I spoke to Micromash reps on the phone, they were always nice and very helpful. I think the product really prepared me well, and I’d use it again if I have to take another bar exam.
Micromash is the reason I passed the bar. I believe that the content and the frequency of the questions put me in the best position to answer actual bar exam questions correctly. Sitting in a BAR/BRI class was not as effective and was entirely too stressful.
I used MicroMash for the july 07 PA bar exam– I didn’t have the luxury of taking weeks off of work to go sit in a barbri class room–and quite frankly, thought that forking over 3 grand to watch some videotaped lectures was lunacy. MicroMash allowed me to get my studying in whenever and wherever I had time–I own a small business with my father, and the work demands he put on me then were insane, but with my laptop at my side, I was able to do my mbe studying whenever I had a few free minutes– I actually did the bulk of my studying in Vegas–a friend won a spot in the world series of poker, and took me with him– having that solid ten days to study the state materials was invaluable– studying poolside at Caesar’s Palace beats watching a video in cramped classroom any day of the week–I also thought the essay feedback I got was fantastic, my essay mentor gave great, insightful, individualized advice— Not often in life do you find something that is cheaper, more convenient, and more effective–but MicroMash is all of those things— I crushed the PA bar (scored around a 318 if memory serves)–and I owe it all to MicroMash
I passed the CA Bar Exam on the first try after an undeniably average law school career. MicroMash is the reason! MicroMash was the only bar review I took! I did it all from the comfort of my home, at my speed, in my way. MicroMash is amazing! The books are the best I’ve ever seen, and my mentor was fantastic!
I passed the bar exam using Micromash! I was studying for the bar exam while taking care of my children. It was a sacrifice, but Micromash made it easier. I studied on my own time at night and on the weekend. I did not have to worry about wasting money and time making it to a course every week, and it was cheaper than other programs. I also had someone to look over my practice essays and provide comments. They provided everything I needed to pass…nothing more, nothing less…just right for someone with a busy schedule.
I used MicroMash to study for (and pass) the Massachusetts bar exam. It’s just as good as BarBri, much more flexible, and much cheaper. BarBri gets away with charging as much as they do by using hard-sell tactics, by hiring lots of on-campus representatives, and by making you afraid to use anything else. Don’t be fooled!
MicroMash was the perfect study aid! I took the North Carolina bar and passed on the first time. My husband and I just had a baby and I needed a bar review course that I could use at home. I was able to set up my own study schedule without being forced to leave the house. Three people from my class did the Micromash program and they all passed on the first try.
I would recommend MicroMash because it fully prepared me for the bar. The multiple choice questions were very good because you could do them on the computer and set up different settings to either correct your answer immediately or wait and correct them all at the end.
The one on one help from your assigned tutor was the best. I was able to get the feedback that I needed to help me with my essays. Her recommendations were very detailed and assisted me in fine tuning my writing for the bar.
I would recommend MicroMash to anyone!

The billing and payment arrangement was convenient and reasonable. The mentor that Micromash assigned to me was great. overall this is a really quality product and I would recommend it.
I used the Micromash study program to retake the MBE in Florida. I feel like the Micromash practice questions are more similar to those on the actual MBE. The software helped me track my speed. I did well on the practice exam included with the package which was a real confidence builder. I raised my score 25 points! Thanks Micromash!
I was so happy that I used Micromash to study for the Virginia Bar Exam. The materials were excellent and MBE prep software far surpasses any other product out there. It will give you an edge. It’s great for someone who learns well on there own. After three years of lectures I couldn’t even handle the thought of sitting in a classroom listening to someone teach me things I would learn better on my own. The mentor they assigned was helpful and responsive to any questions I actually had, but the materials were self-explanatory. And, it was 50% cheaper than Bar Bri at the time.
Micromash was my only study aid and I passed the bar in Connecticut on my fist try. Not only did I pass, I received a high enough score on the multi-state portion to waive into the District of Columbia. I started my first law job in D.C. the day after I was sworn in and paid half of what my fellow grads did to take BARBRI.
I found MicroMash to be an excellent way for me to study and prepare for the Bar Exam. One of the things I didn’t like about Law School was the way people tended to congregate and complain about school and add to an already stressful situation by passing along their anxiety to everyone else. I was afraid that this type of thing would only be magnified during a traditional Bar prep course.
But with MicroMash I was able to individualize my study schedule and remove all the extra background noise that comes with having to sit in a lecture hall with a bunch of other people who would only stress me out more. In the end, the Summer I studied for the Bar was much less stressful when compared with my friends who took a traditional bar prep course and I loved how I was able to set my own schedule and be able to still the enjoy the Summer.
I studied for the bar starting July 1 on my own schedule. MicroMash was perfect, and their MBE software was extremely helpful in making my studying efficient.
I took barbri and failed the bar the first time. It was way too much information and no one told you what you really needed to know. I totally stressed myself out. Plus sitting in a room full of anxious barbri participants was torture. Being able to study at home and at work with the self-paced micromash program was perfect. I didn’t have to waste a bunch of time with lectures, I could just get right down to business. I would definitely recommend micromash!
I used MicroMash for the Georgia Bar Exam in the summer of 2007. This course was great. The multiple choice program was excellent for helping me prepare for that section, and the lawyer-reviewed essays help develop my writing for the bar. MicroMash definitely helped me pass the first time.
At the outset let me say, I passed the bar exam. I elected to do Micromash b/c I’ve always been a self studier, and I did not think paying the extra thousands of dollars to have someone read to me would be beneficial. Self studying is totally doable, so those of you that think you have to pay the extortive prices charged by the classes, you don’t!
Those were the positives. Micromash was absolutely the WORST money I have ever spent in my life. The only thing I found beneficial was the multistate cd rom. The outlines were poorly organized, and the state outlines were almost unreadable. I ended up borrowing used Kaplan books from a friend of mine and using those almost exclusively.
Micromash was a lifesaver (not to mention a money saver) for me! I had two young children who were on summer vacation while I was preparing for the bar exam. I couldn’t have fun with my children and go sit in a classroom watching videos of some worn out lecture so I had to find another way to prepare. I heard about micromash and decided to look into it. It was perfect for me. I could study at my own pace and work around my kids needs. It even cost a lot less then the competition. With the money back guarantee it was a no brainer – I had nothing to lose and if I failed I could always get my money back and spend it on the competition next time. I didn’t fail though! In fact I passed with room to spare – and I did it for less money, more freedom and a lot less stress than my friends who used the competition. As a multiple Bar Exam taker/retaker I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and convenience of the Micro Mash experience. I studied at my own pace and was able to focus on areas that needed additional work. Happily I am admitted to the New York Bar.
I used the Micro-Mash study guide to study for the Florida bar exam while working full time as an attorney in Kentucky. Despite attempting to study during a month when I worked over 230 hours, Micro-Mash helped me pass! I couldn’t be happier, and I truly believe that the study guides were worth the somewhat high price I paid for them.

I graduated from law school more than 15 years ago and took my first bar exam at that time. When I moved to my current state two years ago and learned I could not be admitted through reciprocity, I was very concerned about how much time had passed since my legal education. MicroMash provided targeted materials that helped me to successfully cram a comprehensive review (and reteaching!) into a brief period of time. I have Micromash to thank for helping me to pass the Tennessee bar on my first attempt. The material in the books was more than enough to study from and was organized in a logical fashion. I found the True/False questions contained therein helpful in reviewing material and making sure that I had mastered it before moving on. For those of you who don’t know … MicroMash had its own Stand and Deliver (movie, 1988) event when they launched their CPA review. “Students … so successful … that they skewed statewide results.
